The Qualification
The Edexcel Level 2 BTEC Award in Door Supervision has been designed to meet the training needs of door supervisors who are employed by large and small companies and operators in the door supervision sector.
This qualification is designed to provide:
- a framework of education and training for those in the door supervision sector
- opportunities for door supervisors to achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification
- the knowledge, understanding and skills learners need to apply for a licence to practise
- opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.
Each unit identifies relevant aspects of the National Occupational Standards that are addressed by the outcomes and content of the unit. This Edexcel Level 2 BTEC Award in Door Supervision relates to the National Occupational Standards for Providing Security Services.
Target Audience
BTEC Short Courses are designed to provide focused and specialist work-related qualifications in a range of sectors. The qualifications can provide a specialist emphasis for learners following a general vocational programme of study. The BTEC Short Courses offer a focused qualification for learners, particularly more mature learners, who wish to follow a shorter programme of study that is directly related totheir work experience or to an aspect of employment that they wish to move into in due course.
On successful completion of these qualifications, learners may progress into or within
employment and/or continue their study in the vocational area.

Assessment
In the Edexcel Level 2 BTEC Award in Door Supervision both units are assessed by means of externally set and marked multiple-choice tests administered by the centre. The tests will provide the only necessary assessment for the Edexcel Level 2 BTEC Award in Door Supervision and will cover the whole of the assessment criteria for these units.

Duration
The training programme can be delivered over four consecutive days or flexible hours to suit individual client requirements.
Additional Information
The fines for working as a Door Supervisor without an SIA licence are severe. You can be fined up to £5,000.00 and receive up to six months in prison.
SIA Door Supervisor Licence holders can work as a Security Guard as well as a Door Supervisor.
The minimum age for access to the qualification is 18.
